I'm so sad to learn of Bob's passing. Wow, what a guy! I met Bob in 2014; we were roommates. I was recently divorced and he was looking for a roommate. What a wonderful blessing to have spent time with Bob. It turns out that my father, who was friends with Bob's father-in-law, helped him get an important job at Revlon Cosmetics many years prior.

Bob was amazing, his energy was off the charts, even for someone 20-years his junior. What I enjoyed the most about Bob was his inexhaustible optimism. Never, I mean never, did I see him without a smile. A few times we went out to dinner, always at the Spaghetti Factory which he loved. Bob taught me that service to others makes one's self happy and he served others without reservation. I'll miss Bob's humor, in fact I'm smiling, no beaming, as I write this. We had many gut wrenching laughs almost on a daily basis.

The two bedroom apartment we shared was at The Ananda Community. The community was close and shared similar spiritual beliefs, they met weekly. Bob and I rarely attended. In fact at one point we missed all 8 of important earthquake preparedness meetings! One Saturday afternoon Bob came in after talking to his friend Bill, another resident. With a serious look I hadn't seen before, he exclaimed... "BLAKE! I JUST SPOKE TO BILL... WE ALL HAVE TO BUY 'COLOR CODED' EMERGENCY EARTHQUAKE HARD HATS!...WE GOT A PROBLEM!... YOU'RE NOT GOING TO LIKE THE COLOR ASSIGNED TO OUR APARTMENT!" Then after a moment of silence...Bob flashed that broad Flagel smile, we spent the next 20 minutes in laughter.

I'm blessed that Bob and I shared time together and I will always remember him with a smile on my face.

Rest in peace my friend!
