Sylvia Ann (Petersen) Weaver
July 31, 1934 - Jan. 2, 2021
Sylvia Ann (Petersen) Weaver, age 86, passed away peacefully Jan. 2, 2021 at Providence Hospital in Milwaukie, Ore. She was born July 31, 1934 in Minden, Neb., (to Hans and Ellen Petersen), and moved with her family to Oregon when she was 13 years old. Sylvia worked as a waitress for many years. She was a hard-working, friendly, people-person. After retirement she began her second career providing daycare, including loving care to several of her grandchildren. Sylvia's family was very important to her, and she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Sylvia enjoyed camping, fishing, listening to country music, tending to her flowers while enjoying the sun and a glass of wine on her deck. She also enjoyed watching football and was an avid Portland Trail Blazer fan. Sylvia lived a full life and will be most remembered by her infectious laugh and warm hugs that brightened the lives of everyone around her.
Left to honor Sylvia and remember her love are her six children and their spouses; 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two sisters; one brother; sisters-in-law; brothers-in-law; along with many nieces and nephews. Sylvia was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; one sister; and her husband, David Weaver.
Sylvia will be placed to rest in Willamette National Cemetery with a small private family ceremony. A date to celebrate Sylvia's life with family and friends has not yet been scheduled.
