Ken and I were so sorry to hear of Bill's passing. He was a dear friend and outstanding Forest Supervisor, and I had the pleasure of serving as his Executive Assistant for several years. It's impossible to include all the good things I could say about Bill--he was a terrific leader, he was compassionate and fair, he was patient, he had a sense of humor, he knew how to relate to lots of different types of people and his calm strength brought people together in so many ways. He truly cared about the Forest Service and the "Forest Service family." He made a difference in many lives, and Ken and I feel honored to have been a part of his.

Before I retired, Mr. Damon was my supervisor as I worked as District Ranger on the Pedlar RD (GWNF) and the Glenwood RD (JNF). He was one the best and was a strong supporter of those of us in the "field". I was saddened to hear about his passing and I extend my prayers to the family members.

I was saddened to see of Bill's passing. I agree with the others, as he definitely was the best Forest Supervisor that I ever had worked with. I was one of the last District Rangers that he hired and he always knew how to give me words of wisdom, encouragement, and advice. My thoughts and prayers are with the family.

Bill is very quiet person. He is very great and always greet his employees. I heard of his cancer news last year, and I kept pray and pray and hope that god will give him more time to be with his families. The forest service will lose the very most important person who does care and always make the Forest employees to feel like his family with the most beautiful place for workings. Where Bill Damon is now, I hope that he would hear his employees to say thank and sorry because we will miss you and we will remember you.
