We met Barbara through my brother Pat, who was her neighbor for many years. She was always a special friend, but I did not know how special until my brother became ill. Barb went out of her way to help Pat when he traveled, most importantly later when he was weak from cancer treatments. Pat called her his "Saint."

I understand she made critical assistance decisions in many lives as part of her job. She told us some of the sad stories, but mostly of the funny ones. She was special to many and made the world a better place.

I never talked to her when she did not mention her son and his family. She was so proud of them and how she looked forward to the visits. We are sorry for your loss. We are proud to have known Barbara and will miss her.

I've known Barb the entire time she has been with the Sheriff's Office. She was a very sweet lady. I would talk to her in the morning when I came in and she would be so excited because she knew she would be leaving soon.

I was so sorry to hear that she started her next journey so soon.

Barb is one person that I will never forget. Sleep well my friend.
