Close to ten years ago I bought a Carbon Fiber Helmet from Kim to protect my noggin while riding. I liked it so much I called Kim one day to see if he was interested in trading some design and marketing work for skinning my entire bike in Carbon Fiberwell, long story short, Kim and I worked together on and off for years, I designed the "Head Trip" logo and consulted with him on his Knife projects. We had long chats on the phone and over the years developed a solid "long distance" friendship.
When I heard the news, I was more saddened then I would have imagined, you can't always guess who will make an impression on your life, but Kim did, he was always kind and generous to me, and I really enjoyed our talks.
My sincerest condolences to all Kim's friends and family, I'm very sorry for your loss and I just wanted you to know that Kim managed to make an impression on someone thousands of miles away.
Additionally, Kim may have saved my life. Two summers ago I crashed into a guard-rail going about 55mph wearing an ACC helmet, the rail put a huge dent in the carbon fiber, but I walked away. That was the bike Kim covered in CF, I'll miss that bike, and I'll miss Kim too.

Postscript: Kim may have saved my life. Two summers ago I crashed into a guard-rail going about 55mph wearing an ACC helmet, the rail put a huge dent in the carbon fiber, but I walked away. I miss that bike and Kim.

I've known Kim since I was 5 or 6. Lots of memories, especially from his time living on Lake Conway! Sad to lose the oldest friend I have ever known.
