May the God of hope give you a measure of peace and comfort in this truly difficult time. Romans 15:13.

Phyllis was a big light, a joyful presence, a fabulous dinner companion, and a real Southern lady. Bill and I always felt so honored to get to visit with her when she came to Los Angeles. And of the many memories we'll keep in our hearts of meals and laughs and stories, the way she lit up around Taylor, Amy and June will always be forefront. I took this picture of her with her one-month-old granddaughter, June, and the joy in her face tells the story. Sending all our love to everyone in her family.

Jennifer and I felt so lucky to know Phyllis, and to enjoy her company during her visits to Los Angeles. We have a wonderful picture of all of us taken at dinner during her last trip out here, and I always get a kick out of seeing it. She was such good company -- vibrant, funny, delighted with the place, fully engaged in the moment. Most of all in that photo, you can see how very happy she was to be there with Taylor, Amy and June, and how much joy she got from just being with them. We're so glad we got to know her.
