Henry & I are sad to here of the passing of " Bubba". We have just returned from the OBX and a friend told us. What an amazing man. Please know that your husband, father, grandfather & brother was greatly admired by all who knew him & will be missed. You are all in our thoughts & prayers. I knew Gen. Oates when he was assigned at Westover as Vice-Commander. Always supportive and positive, and a lot of plain common sense. I will always remember his smile and laugh.

General Oates was a true leader! He listened to his subordinates inputs and made decisions based on good reasoning instead of how it would affect his career. So sorry to hear of his passing at such a young age.
