I am privileged to have worked with Hap at Tyco/Sensormatic and sought his guidance many times on RFID topics. Being the wise and understanding gentleman he was, he would patiently explain his answers to this non-engineer. Even in retirement, he helped guide the evolution of our product on his visit to California this past June. Rest in peace, Hap-- we will miss you.

Several of Hap's former GE co-workers were saddened to hear of his passing and wish to extend our condolences to his family.

It's hard to believe Hap Patterson is no more wit us. Deepest Condolences to Hap's family. I worked for him at Tyco in Bangalore (India). He was a gem of a person, so humble and respectable. Hap's mentorship and guidance helped me shape a lot of aspects in my personal and professional fronts and I am ever thankful to him. Prayers to his family.

My deepest condolences to the Patterson family. I had the honor and privilege to work with Hap and learn from him as a professional but often he shared stories about his family and hobbies. He'd had many puzzles and brain teasers on his desk and I never managed to solve any but with a kind and gentle heart give me the answers without making me feel bad. In loving memory.
