LaDella (Della) Ehlert Dickinson
LaDella (Della) Ehlert Dickinson, 90, passed away on Saturday, March 27th, 2021. She was born on January 15, 1931 in Alberta, Canada, the last of eleven children born to Martha (Thur) and Max Ehlert. She married Gardner Edward Dickinson III in Palm Springs, California in 1954. They spent decades on the PGA Tour while raising their three children. Della was an accomplished golfer, winning many club championships and served as director of the 1987 US Amateur Championship at Jupiter Hills Country Club. Della had a kind and generous heart and a smile that would light up a room. She had an amazing green thumb, loved to dance, play the lottery and adored all of her dogs. Known for her parties, cookies and her famous key lime pies, Della will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was a blessing on this Earth and her legacy lives on in her family: her three children, Gardner (Dick) Edward Dickinson IV (Rita), Randall Ben Dickinson (Kimberly), Sherry Adele Dickinson Frederickson; her Grandchildren, Madelyn Anne Hurst (Jimi), Della Dorothy Frederickson, Gardner (Boomer) Edward Dickinson V; her Great Granddaughter, Christine Anne Hurst and a host of devoted nieces and nephews and their families. May God Bless this incredible woman.

This is a beautiful tribute to the beautiful woman who I knew as a loving mother, generous hostess and patient spouse to my distant cousin, Gardner. She raised 3 wonderful children and I’m so glad to know of the many grandchildren (and dogs) who surrounded her with love through the remaining years. I admired Della for her beauty and strength as well her forbearance. I’m sorry to have missed a chance to see her again in more recent years. My heart goes out to Dickie, Randy, and Sherry and all of her family and friends who surely miss her.
