Beverley Stephenson Obituary

BEVERLEY JEAN STEPHENSON, age 71, passed away February 8, 2016 at her home in Aguila, Az. She was born May 20, 1944 in Los Angeles, CA. The family moved to Corona, Ca, in 1948 and Bev graduated from high school in 1961. She attended college at Mount Sac. From there Bev had numerous jobs mostly in retail. I miss Beverley as she was my best friend. Best friends don't come around very often. Sometimes we would read each other's mind, drop what were were doinkg, meet up and jump in the car without saying a word where we were going. We both just knew. I can never thank God enough for her friendship. I think she would be pleased that I moved next to the town where she last lived. Small towns are something else. Her sister's adopted me so I am blessed. Cheers!

I could never have a better best friend than Beverley Stephenson. I haven't found anyone who would drop everything to go out for dinner or drinks at the drop of a hat. When I came back to WA State she had a job waiting for me at Cingular in HR. She was like a mother cat making sure her kitten (me) was treated with respect. However, AT&T bought out Cingular and AT&T brought in their own HR people. She had a gift to listen and talk to people. Beverley had a heavy foot on the gas peddle and would talk police out of a ticket. When she wasn't able to drive anymore I drove her to her appointments way down in Tacoma. As a volunteer she put her heart and soul into Lions club. I made sure her name was added to those special people at the Lions monument and a rhododendron planted there in her behalf. Lions in Bellevue is where we met but I have since left Lions and will be donating the Lions items I inherited from Bev and my items. I will always miss Bev. You couldn't get a better friend. But when my time comes, I can hardly wait to reunite with her.

Bev and I were always running around together since we met at the Bellevue Lions Club 10 years ago. We had a breakfast club where we traveled each weekend to a different place to eat. I moved out of state and when I came back she had a job waiting for me at Cingular, now AT&T Mobile. There was never a dull time with Bev! The last two years of her life she traveled with her long time boyfriend Rodney Elg to Alaska and Arizona and stopping in Idaho. She will be sincerely missed and forever loved.
