Catherine Jenkins Obituary

CATHERINE L. JENKINS, age 91, resident of Riverside, formerly of New Orleans, Louisiana, passed away March 10, 2014. In 2005, Mrs. Jenkins was forced to leave her home in New Orleans after the devastation of Hurricane Katrina. She moved to Southern California to be near her two children and their families. She is survived by her daughter, Gloria Shipp of Santa Ana; son, Elvin Jenkins, Jr. of Riverside; two grandsons, Elvin Jenkins, III and Tyrone L. Shipp. Mrs. Jenkins was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Elvin Jenkins, Sr. in 1995 and her son, Leon Jenkins. She is also survived by two brothers, Payton Lonon, Jr. and Samuel London; three sisters, Maggie Barker, Elizabeth London and Martha Wade. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00am Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at Brown Colonial Chapel. Mrs. Jenkins will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband in New Orleans, Louisiana.
