Last night I found out about the loss of one my treasured friend Colleen... She was more then one of the first nurse practitioners for kaiser, more then a Feingold advocate who knew Ben Feingold, she was a great human being for anyone who knew or met her. My heart goes out to Ryan, Jeff and Scott who she dearly loved. She gets be with her Marcie now. Rest In Peace my friend...

I practically grew up at Colleen's house. I am sad to just find out about her passing and will miss her forever. She can be with Marci now and that is always a good thing. Praying for Jeff and Ryan and all the rest of the family.

I met Colleen through the Feingold Association in the 1990s where I learned that avoiding food additives was a better way to help my daughter than drugs. Colleen's advocacy for this approach as a respected medical professional gave countless families the courage to follow this path. She bravely fought for the truth to prevail even when medical colleagues were being criticized for their support of a healthy alternative to Ritalin for children. She will always continue to inspire me.

Back in the 1980s, I had never heard of Colleen, but she changed my life by braving inclement weather to appear on a TV program where she talked about the Feingold diet for ADHD. She gave me access to a treatment that worked when all the medical treatments had failed for my son. Over the years we worked on projects, discussed plans and ideas. At midnight in Georgia when I get an urge to call her, it is hard to remember she is no longer there to pick up the phone. In this picture, she peeks out from the cover of the FAUS Bluebook.
