Garrett Flyr Obituary

GARRETT (GARY) JOSEPH FLYR Age 68, passed away on Saturday, January 25, 2014 in Riverside, CA. Gary was born to Joseph and Josephine Flyr in Lincoln, Nebraska on January 6, 1946. He is survived by his wife Mary; son Garrett Joseph (wife Linh) and daughters Tracie (husband Chris) and Michele. Gary was proud to have grandchildren Jewelia, Robbie, Joey, Jimmy, Kevin, Haoi, Emeily, Samantha, and great-granddaughter Audrey. He will be missed by his siblings Charlotte, David, Linda, Phyllis and Jean. Gary served his country with the US Army Sixth Infantry. He earned a National Defense Service Medal and Sharpshooter Badge (Rifle). Gary was a longtime resident of Riverside, and a well-known figure in the community who built a much respected antique business, Mr. Beasley's Antiques. Gary had a passion for cooking, gardening and collecting the unusual. He was a talented pianist, played the guitar and sang. A mass will be held on Monday, February 10th at St. Catherine of Alexandria Catholic Church in Riverside (11:00 am) followed by services at Riverside National Cemetery (1:30 pm).

We are celebrating Joyce Cronican's 60th birthday at the home of LaVern and Cleon Houghton just outside of Wisner, Nebraska and the children of Lester and Elizabeth Flyr are spending time remembering cousin Gary Flyr.
Our prayers are with you. Those here today are Al, Dale, Dean, Cleon,Imogene and Joyce.
