Kate and Danny, I'm so sorry for your lost. I remember your mother fondly. She would come to Butterfield School with your father. She would also attend all of the social activities with Jim. I pray for your family. Your mom and dad are now together.

So sorry to hear of the passing of Mrs. Russell. That is how I knew her. She was my son's first grade teacher. I remember she loved pigs so for Christmas and the gift given on the last day of school I gave her something with pigs. I gave her a pig bank filled with pink candies. She was good for my son. I have one more special memory. Jamal was a typical boy, but Mrs. Russell could handle him. The class was going on a field trip up to Big Bear, I didn't like the ride up there. However, Mrs. Russell would not take Jamal unless I went along. She told me to look the other way, as we climbed the mountain. I thought that was such a hilarious comment. She will truly be missed.

Marilee was an outstanding and committed teacher and coworker during the 16 years we worked together at Hidden Springs Elementary. I'll always remember her incredible collection of Coca Cola memorabilia! I had the pleasure of teaching her delightful and intelligent daughter, Kate, in my fourth grade class many years ago. My sincere condolences to Kate and all of Marilee's family.
