ROGER DEAN WARREN
Age 82, of Riverside, California, passed away on April 1, 2018. Roger was born August 27, 1935 in Moreno Valley, California to Dean and Lula Warren. He graduated from Poly High School and entered into the U.S. Army in which he proudly served for two years before returning to civilian life. Coming from a modest upbringing, Roger was a man known for his work ethic and in his early years did whatever it took to provide for his family. However, it was his 45 year career as an engineer for the State of California, he saw as his most successful.
Roger met the love of his life Joan, in 1973 and together raised a lively family of five. These early years were ones of trials, tribulations, and mostly joy, and Roger and Joan made it to retirement where they built and lived in their dream home in Wrightwood, California. Roger's workshop was the envy of the town, and he spent many hours working and restoring vintage cars. During this time Roger and Joan enjoyed family get-togethers, and experienced many adventures as they traveled in their RV and vacationed with friends and family throughout the U.S. and abroad.
Roger is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Joan; sister Phyllis Schwarberg, and proud father, grandfather and great-grandfather of Brian (Laurie), Scott (Jane), Scott Huennekens (Debbie), Jody Huennekens and Todd Huennekens; grandchildren, Robert, Kaitlin, Lauren, Katie, Kelly and Jared, and great-grandchildren Ryder, Dexter, and Gunner and numerous nieces and nephews.
Roger, a committed husband and father, and the ultimate handy man who was always willing to help friends and family, will be greatly missed. We find comfort knowing he is at peace and in the arms of our loving Heavenly Father.
A memorial for family and friends is planned for Saturday, April 28 at 11am at Acheson & Graham Garden of Prayer Mortuary, Riverside, California.
