RUSSELL STERLING COBB Russell Sterling Cobb (not Clark Kent) was the real Superman. Russell was born September 24, 1928 in Casa, Arkansas but wore his cape for the past 70 years in Southern California, the last years in Hemet. His earthly body died on January 6, 2019 at the age of 90. He was a super man, a devoted husband, caring father and grandfather, and a good friend to many. He leaves behind a loving wife Ruth Cascadden Cobb and her children, plus 4 adult children of his own, 9 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and one precious great grand pup. Russell lived a full and happy life. He was a gifted furniture manufacturer for many years and loved working with wood. He was a horseman, enjoyed fishing and was a good hunter in earlier years. More recently he enjoyed old cars. At the age of 88 he decided he needed a souped-up '65 Impala (red with a black racing stripe down the hood). When asked why he needed a muscle car at 88 he replied, "So I'll look cool when I go to the donut shop". He did enjoy going for coffee with the guys. This was of course when he was not changing into his cape and hero outfit. Not having telephone booths to change in, did slow him down, but he did find one phone booth outside a diner in Temecula he liked to go to. He didn't mind the dancing waitresses there either. Most of all he enjoyed time with family. He always had a sunny disposition and the littlest things made him giggle. And what a great giggle he had! He was described by many as being a "kind soul" and he will be greatly missed. Arrangements Entrusted to the Care of 9695 Magnolia Ave., Riverside, CA 92503 (951) 785-4071. I was just a young girl but I remember him coming to visit my grandparents ( John and Marilyn Cobb) house. I just remember us having a great time and laughter. My prayers go out to his family and friends.
