Audrey Allen

1940 - 2020

Audrey Bliley Allen, Lower Paxton Township, Harrisburg, PA went to be with her Lord and Savior on March 18, 2020. She was born January 12, 1940 in Waterford, PA to her late parents, Ferdinand and Gladys (Rose) Bliley. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Richard and brother Charles. Audrey is survived by her brothers Dennis, Richard, and William, and her sister Janet. She is also survived by daughter Rodean (Todd) Mowry, Rebecca (Greg) Knackstedt and son, Jeffrey Allen and six grandchildren, Amanda, Andrew, Ross, Jillian, Hunter and Cooper and her great granddaughter Hazel. She was a 1958 graduate of Fort LeBoeuf High School, Waterford, PA and a 1961 graduate of Hamot Hospital School of Nursing, Erie PA. She worked as an RN at Hamot Hospital, West Volusia Hospital, Fish Memorial Hospital and retired from Villa Teresa Nursing Home after 19 years of service. Audrey was a long standing member of Faith Immanuel Presbyterian Church, Harrisburg PA where she was Sunday School Superintendent for many years when her children were young. She was a Girl Scout Leader, President of the North Side PTA, President of the Civic Club of Suburban Harrisburg and of the Dauphin County Women's Club. She was also a member of Ridgeview Garden Club and the Lower Paxton AARP and had been a member of the Friendship Center. In her earlier years, she enjoyed doing crafts and knitting. She enjoyed flowers and working in her yard and gardens. She enjoyed playing Bingo at the Friendship Center, doing word find puzzles and reading. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the church, Faith Immanuel Presbyterian Church, 1801 Colonial Road, Harrisburg, PA or to the Shriners Hospital. Per her wishes, there will be no viewing or services. Funeral will be at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
