Charles-When you first came to Harrisburg from South Carolina my stepfather (McDaniel Howard) brought me to your house on Lincoln Street for a haircut. When you were finished cutting my hair I remember my stepfather saying how much do I owe you and I vividly remember you telling him 6 bits. Thats how far back you and I go.
Rest in Peace!
My condolences to your family.

I would like to express my condolences to the Wallace family . One of many memories i have as a pre-teen is how I used to wait a long time (at times hours) for a haircut -- but , yet I enjoyed it! I recall listening to the latest music or the many conversations - including the banter about all sports (HS and National) and the out-right arguments and challenges where Mr. Wallace would always act as referrer. The atmosphere there was more than a Barbershop, it was electric! And I will always remember looking forward to my next experience in the Wallace hair salons . Charles Wallace always carried himself as a gentleman and a professional. He will be missed.

My good friend & coworker Brian Slade took me to Mr. Wallace’s Barbershop, from the very first day I felt comfortable in the Black Country Club. I was so overwhelmed by the different walks of life that entered this barbershop, from the local Carpenter that Mr. Wallace hired to work on his rental properties to State Senators, Doctors & Attorney’s.
I enjoyed my time with my son Chris Napper as he was able to observe the life lessons that were taught by a beautiful soul. I will forever cherish the memories that I have of him.
My heartfelt condolences to Charles Wallace, Sr. and his family, we love and celebrate the life lessons we learned from our community leader. Our lives are enriched because of Mr. Wallace. Many of our icons from our tribe have joined the ancestors and our forever in our hearts. To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.
"Mr. Charles Wallace was the finest public servant I have ever known. All his life, CW worked on the side of the angels. Now, he is with them."
Well done, good and faithful servant. You will truly be missed. Sending Prayers and Condolences to the family. ❤

May God bless and comfort the entire Wallace family, I was a long time customer and friend of the Wallace Barber Shop. I enjoyed going to the shop as a teenager, a young man and a young professional. I am happy to say that both of my sons joined my example and made Wallace's their shop, too. Charles and Gene were great businessmen and excellent mentors in this greater Harrisburg community. Charles will be truly missed now and I'm the future. Thank you God for blessing Charles Wallace and the Wallace family.

Charles Wallace was the G.O.A.T. (greatest of all time) barber in the greater Steelton/Harrisburg
communities. He was a trailblazer and entrepreneur. Back in the 70's, we would wait in line at his shop, waiting for his chair to open. He arched eyebrows like no other! He shaped up my fro for years.
Take your rest Sir Charles. Well done, well done.
