Dear Cindy and Family, My heart goes out to you
at this time. (George) Mr. Nye was the kind of teacher that made the science class very interesting to a junior and senior in the Hershey
Vocational school, showing us how to cc heads,
rebuild a carburetor,set up a distributor, make
oxygen, hydrogen, run video equipment ( all the while rebuilding a Carburetor) what a way to peak
a kids interest in science, and giving insight to
other views.Last time I talked with him was in
1974 at the York US 30 dragway ,He always took an interest in others. He will be missed,May GOD bless you and comfort you at this time of great loss. Jacob Hitz Class of 1970

I remember Mr. Nye fondly as my teacher in the gifted program in the Hershey middle school and had the pleasure of working under him as the student stage manager when I was in the 9th grade. I was honored to work with him in stage productions, and proudly recall the plaque he gave me, referring to me as the worst stage manager he ever had, which was probably true! Mr. Nye always seemed to maintain his sense of humor and, as many noted, his love of cars and planes. I was happy to see him on Facebook and loved seeing his often witty observations, as well as his unparalleled knowledge of Hershey history. I am deeply saddened to hear of his passing and will keep his family and friends in my thoughts during this difficult time.

Dear Cindy and Family,
John and I were saddened to learn of George's passing. I enjoyed working with him at Hershey Middle School. He was definitely one of a kind! John always enjoyed talking to him about cars; especially Corvettes. I have fond memories of skiing with George and Cindy.
May the love and support of family and friends sustain you during this difficult time.
Those we love remain with us for love itself lives on.

We were good buddies in Hershey grade school and cub scouts (when we were Georgie and Stevie); he lived on Chocolate Ave. and I was on Cocoa Ave.. We both had little sisters who were dolls. My family moved out of town when I was in 7th grade, but we reconnected on Facebook a few years ago, for which I'm grateful.
