It is with great sadness that the family of Joseph Francis Zack, Sr., 89, of Camp Hill, announces his peaceful passing at home on Sunday, September 6, 2020 with his loving wife by his side. Joe was born to Lena and William Zack on July 15, 1931 in Throop, PA. He attended Throop High School and served in the Air Force at the rank of Staff Sergeant (Ssgt). Joe proudly worked for 3M, retired from IBM and then worked for the PLCB into his late seventies. He is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Theresa. Joe was a wonderful father to their three surviving children, Joseph Zack, Jr. (and wife Donna) of New Cumberland, Kim McBride (and husband Randy) of Middleburg, and Randy Zack (and wife Dede) of Pittsburgh. Joe was treasured for his humorous antics by his grandchildren, Dan (and wife Meghan), Steve (and wife Alyssa) and Melissa Zack; Roxanne, Skyler and Shaun McBride; Allesandra and Christopher Zack. He was thrilled to welcome into the world, his two great grandchildren, Marleyna and Malcolm Zack. Joe had three brothers and three sisters. He was preceded in death by William, Evelyn Gutkowski and Chester. He is survived by Eleanor Ulko, Cecilia Heitzenrater, Richard and many nieces and nephews. A funeral will be held at a later date to be announced. The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Home Instead and Homeland Hospice for their loving assistance which allowed Joseph to be at home with his wife for his final weeks. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Homeland Hospice, 2300 Vartan Way, Suite 270, Harrisburg, PA 17110. Online condolences at

Prayers lifted for the entire Zack family. I'll never forget Joe we called him Zack at the PLCB. There were too many Joe's in the office so we just called him Zack. I have to admit Zack and Frank were my two favorite employees l loved them both dearly. The Lord took Zack and Frank only weeks apart. I know these two both are still having a great time together in heaven with all the shenanigans they shared in the office. Peace be with you all. Jane Grove

I worked with Zack at the PLCB, until I retired in 2009. He was always so up beat with a great sense of humor. He was always making us laugh. I'm sure heaven is a happier place with him being there. I'm so sorry to hear of his passing. Sending my condolences to his family.
