Mary E. (Fox) Hoffman, 82, of Harrisburg, passed away on Friday July 24, 2020. Born January 29, 1938, in Harrisburg, she was the daughter of the late John H. and Elizabeth (Bailor) Fox. While Mary always placed her highest priority on caring for her family, she was also a loyal and dedicated employee of H.B. Reese Candy Co., for over 20 years, before retiring at the age of 76. Mary was a wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Her strength was the backbone of her family. Her faith in God and her belief in family gave her the most joyous times in her life. She taught her children to believe in God, to cherish family, and to stand together in order to weather any storm. Mary's husband, John, was the love of her life. She was his best friend, wife and sweetheart. They grew up together and spent 68 years learning to love each other a little more each day. Together, they built a dynasty out of the love they shared. Mary spent the last days of her life telling her family of her pride and love for them. She was beautiful and lived her life in grace and dignity. She was unyielding in her beliefs and opinions. She was the matriarch of her family without question. She was loved like no other for all that she was and by all that knew her. The grief and sorrow felt by her family knows no bounds and will remain until they meet again in Heaven. Mary was preceded in death by her son, Jeffery D. Hoffman. In addition to her husband, John E. Hoffman, Sr., she is survived by six sons, John E. Jr and wife Dawn, of Hummelstown, Robert E. and wife La'Ree, of Shermans Dale, Ronald L. and wife Janel, Richard A. and wife Mary, Gary L. and wife Michelle, and David S. and wife Rhonda, all of Harrisburg; five daughters, Virginia A. Zerance and husband Michael, of Newport, Sharon L. Botelho and husband Anthony, of Texas, Donna M. Long and husband William, Pamela S. Berger and husband Carl and Brenda L. Hoffman, all of Harrisburg. She is also survived by 34 grandchildren, 71 great grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren. Her Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 Noon on Friday July 31, 2020 in the Jesse H. Geigle Funeral Home, Inc., 2100 Linglestown Road, Harrisburg, with Rev. George Jensen, officiating. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family during her viewing on Friday, from 11:00 A.M. to 12:00 Noon, prior to the service. Interment will be in Snyder's Cemetery, New Bloomfield. A repast will follow at the Duncannon EMS, 16 Shermanta Drive, Duncannon. Those wishing to share memories or condolences with the family may visit BitnerCares.com.

She a wonderful mother wife and grandma. Any one who has had the pleasure of being a part of her life will always be touched by her love comfort and joy of loving God. Remebering Your Mother

As your mother once held you
Tenderly , safe, secure and warm, So, Jesus is holding her lovingly now in the circle of His arms.
I pray that His love will reach out to you and heal the hurt within.
That He'll give your heart peace
In knowing that Your Mother is resting with Him.

The universe has shifted and nothing seems quite right anymore. The rooms are empty of your presence and yet my heart has an over flowing abundance of pain, loss, love and sorrow all intertwined together leaving me unable to breathe. I love you mommy and miss you every waking moment and I still need you. I love you mom.

I worked with her at Reese's several years ago, she was such a compassionate caring person to work with. She may not have agreed with you during a hectic work day but she would calmly smile and talk to you with kindness, compassion and respect and that was whether you were her supervisor, co worker or young temp. Please accept my condolences. God Bless.
