Hey Ryan-

Took me a while to jump on here but wanted to say that your 17th Annual Walk/Run/Ride was an amazing success. To all the faithful supporters out there - - thank you! Whether you volunteered, donated, walked, ran or rode you all managed to help Ryan’s Foundation raise more this year than we did in 2019! Even with only half of the usual crowd participating!

You can be proud of your Foundation Ryan. I wish we never had to create it but I know it’s helping many.....all glory goes to God!

Stay happy in Heaven .... miss you so much #9 #40. Love you!

To the entire Mohn family and Ryan's friends....I am thinking of you all and remembering your precious son, brother, nephew, grandson, and friend. I never met Ryan but remember this day 15 years ago, when we learned of Ryan's death, never thinking that our family would suffer a similar loss when my son Daniel died. Two wonderful young men who's lives were cut short. Congratulations to his family and friends for keeping his memory and spirit alive....I share your heartache.

I know we did not know eachother very well but that does not matter. I knew he could have been a great friend of mine if only I would have spoken up more. Because of the problems in my life I wished I would have said a lot more things to Ryan. I still think about him alot just like all the other countless people I loved and knew that past away. Thank the Lord Jesus for Ryan and giving us all an awareness to learn something from an unfortunate situation. Since Ryans wake my own life has not been too great. But you know what. Because of his non knowing sacrifice his spirit still tells me it is not that bad and it could be worse. I thank God the Father in the name of Jesus for Ryan and to the Mohn family may your mind body and soul be blessed through the ups and downs of your lives. Be in peace with eachother now Ryan and Ronnie. Serenity to you both and your family forever and ever. Life is but a vapor or mist and only lasts for a time. To Ryans sister and Ronnies wife. Godspeed to you in everything that you do and whatever obstacles that may come your way in the near future. With love and care. Amen

Can't believe another year has gone by....still can see you as clear as day. I'll share in here what I shared on facebook.....still gotta do the "Old School" way of writing posts and keeping the guest book going!!

I will never stop seeing you look at me with your smirk and asking me "what are youuuu looking at?" I miss looking at you Ryan! I found these pics from the great younger days at Centenary when you all were such young "innocent'' children of God! I miss those days in church and looking over to the left side of "our row" and seeing you there with your mom, Cristen and Bobbie....sometimes head up and sometimes head down! Keep smiling down on us Ryan!!! heart emoticon

Wow Ryan....another successful Walk--our 11th. So hard to believe that we've been doing this now for 11 years. We had our second largest turnout this year! Wish we never had to do it....but having it keeps your name, your legacy alive. Never a day goes by without a thought of you in it. I continue to love and miss you so much. Always and forever in my heart. #9, #40. Love you Bubbachuck....

February 7, 2014
Today is definitely a sad day, but a day to be acknowledged. I cannot believe that ten years have passed since the day that you were taken Ryan. Although, after ten years the tears still occasionally fall, it is with great pride that I can say that I am proud to have known you and been a part of your life in a small way. You made a great impact on many people in the short time you shared with us. It is comforting to know that we all have a very special angel that watches over us. As always, you are thought of and loved very much.

Always missed,
Forever loved, and
Never forgotten,

Allison,
Recently a co-worker handed me the Harrisburg magazine and told me I should read the article about organ donation. She thought I may be interested since Jordyn was an organ donor. As soon as I opened the magazine I saw a picture of you holding a picture of Ryan. I shouldn't have been so surprised to find the article to be about Ryan....I was just caught off guard and the emotions hit me like a ton of bricks. I know you are well aware of how that happens. It's been awhile since I have been in contact with you and Bobbie....probably since I let you know my twin girls were born and my Ryann was named after your Ryan. Please know that I think of you and your family quite frequently. I remember those few sad days when our families found comfort in eachother at the Med Center. It has been a long, long 9 1/2 years without our loved ones....the article about Ryan put a smile on my face and I was able to appreciate, once again, the recipients of Jordyn's organs. Thank you.

Sending love,
Beth

I HAD the recent opportunity to attend a COMIC BOOK SHOW in Hershey PA. While milling about the different vendors I struck up a conversation with a couple who had printed collectable materials for sale which is what I have hobby interests. WHILE CHATTING with the woman I asked where her and her husband were from thinking they would say they had come in from out of the area for the show that weekend. BUT NO the couple were from STEELTON PA. TO WHICH I REPLIED that my family the MOHNS and ESCOBAR/ORTEGAS are from the Steelton area. THE WOMENS face saddens, smiles and she starts to weep. IM SHOCKED and look to her husband and he says OH SHE is just emotional these days. THE WOMEN starts to tell me a story about her son. HE ATTENDED STEELTON HIGH SCHOOL approximately the time that RYAN MOHN was in high school there and that everyone picked on her son EXCEPT RYAN. MY IMPRESSION was maybe her son was special needs but I can't say for sure. SHE TOLD me that her son today will tell her how RYAN would go out of his way to be friendly toward him and how much that meant to him. AND HOW MUCH that meant to her even now. SO I TEARED up and smiled and told her that is a happy memory of RYAN MOHN that we can all have. AND THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME that I have heard stories thru the years how RYAN WAS ALWAYS friendly to everyone no matter who they were. A NICE STORY to share. RYAN I think was in his senior year when killed in a tragic car accident. HE was hugely popular in school and captained a variety of sports teams for the school. He is often featured in ORGAN DONOR Campaigns thru out the state and his parents miss him very much.

Dear Ryan Lee~

It's hard to believe your 9th Walk was held on August 13th. Once again there were many faithful true-blue friends and very many caring people that shared in this special day to remember you and to witness all the good your Foundation is doing for others.

We promise to strive to continue to do all we can, for as long as we can, for others just as you've changed lives yesterday, today and will tomorrow.

Always and forever in my heart--I'll never forget you. I love you and miss you #9 and #40.

The Donor Dash in Philadelphia for Gift of Life was awesome!! Over 3,500 runners and even more walkers. What a wonderful event that we hope to make again next year.

What a great article in the newspaper today! God never ceases to amaze me how He keeps your memory alive and educates others on the importance of organ and tissue donation--the gifts you gave to Matt, Samarth, Mo & Pat.

Missing you so very much. Always and forever in my heart #9, #40.

Its been a while since any of us wrote. But it seems that in basketball and base ball Kenny has received the # 9 or 40 every year. We get it. You wouldn't believe how big he is. And he is doing those #'s proud. He always explains why he gets them to anyone who asks. Just more signs you keep showing us. Thanks.

I know that most of the people that still follow your guestbook and know your history will understand the message below.

The pecan twirl is still doing well in my refrigerator. It does my heart good to know that. Just like that pecan twirl....a part of you is alive and doing well in Matt, Samarth, Mo and Pat. It was amazing to have 4 of your recipients at this year's Walk.

Hearing Jordan talk about his wearing your blue band in memory and in honor of you in his interview at Penn State makes me know that others continue to think of you too.

Always and forever in my heart #9, #40.

I can hardly believe we are coming up on your 8th annual Walk/Run. Your Foundation continues to help others...praise God!

I had the pleasure of going with your Mom and Cristen to meet another one of your recipients--the left kidney recipient, Pat. It was amazing to me to meet the first women who received one of your gifts. What an unselfish act of kidness and hope you have given!

I hope all 4 of your recipients will be able to be present this year. How powerfull will that be!!

Always and forever in my heart #9, #40. Love you and miss you so much!

The other day Ken received his baseball jersey for fall ball. He had the choice of 2 different jerseys... 37 and 40. Without hesitation he chose 40 and was very glad to have it. It took Sean and I a moment to realize why he was so glad to get that number. The number 9 is never available in his size so when the opportunity for him to wear number 40 came... he was very excited! We talked to him later and asked him his memories of Ryan and he had really great ones from church and watching him play football.

We miss Ryan, as does everyone who knew him. Thanks for the wonderful memories!

I thought that this was beautiful .. This makes me really think of Ryan, so I wanted to share this with everyone who still reads this guest book ..

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

My son Dylan has been talking about you a lot lately even though he never got to meet you. He is doing a persuasive research paper on organ donation all because of you. He wears your blue bracelet and NEVER takes it off, its his pride and joy. You are his role model. You have touched him in such a way but never did the two of you meet. He has met your mom and Aunt Bobbi and just thinks they are great, which we all know they are.

Ryan ~

I am so glad to see that this book is back up and viewable. I was getting ready to e-mail your Aunt Bobbie to find out what we needed to do to get it back on.

I didn't get the chance to say Merry Christmas, but it was not because we were not thinking of you. The family still misses you greatly Ryan and we talk of you often.

We send our love to you today and always.

On July 12, 13 & 14 your mom, Cristen and me will be attending the U.S. Transplant Games in Pittsburgh. I'm excited to attend these games and I'm thankful that your mom invited me. These games are similar to the Olympics but they are for people who have had an organ transplanted. Barry Beard is going to compete in several events so hopefully we'll get to see him.

Although none of your recipients will be competing at the Transplant Games this year, I'm excited because we're going to meet the gentleman who received the gift of your liver. Wow.....

Hopefully you will have 3 recipients present at your Walk this year on August 9th. It's hard to believe this will be our 5th year. Is it possible that time has gone by so quickly? It's so true that things happen in the blink of eye.

There is not one day that goes by that I don't miss you or think of you. I look at your photos every single day and wonder. I know God is working all things for the good but my feelings remain the same.

You are always and forever in my heart #9, #40....I love you and miss alot!

A few days ago WITF aired a show all about Steelton called "Our Town". It was actually a pretty neat program. It went over the history of Steelton and Highspire. It covered all of our championships this year and guess who appeared in the program? YOU!! Photos of you and video from your walks where shown. Your Aunt Bobbie spoke about you, your mom and sister along with Bobbie took phone calls. Its so amazing that they volunteer for so much in honor of you, to keep your name alive.

Forever Loved, Forever Missed but NEVER Forgotten!!

Hey Ryan,
I thought I would drop by to wish you a happy 21st birthday, I was thinking about what would you be doing to celebrate your birthday. I think about you often and shed a tear or two. I also find myself thinking about your mom alot because I can only imagine what she is going through with you being gone 4 years now.
