Gary William Iversen
1947-2012
Gary William Iversen, 65, passed away on Monday afternoon, December 3, 2012, after a courageous battle with cancer. Gary was born and raised in Chicago, IL, and was a resident of Pensacola, FL for 42 years.
Gary was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and was a retired employee of the State of Florida.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Anne (01/1919-05-2007) and Robert (07/1918-11/2012) Iversen of Chicago,IL.
He is survived by his three children-Erika of Pensacola, Markus of Jacksonville, FL and Nathan (Brittany) and granddaughters, Brooklyn and Sophia of Cantonment, FL; the mother of his children, Linda of Pensacola; brothers Jeff of Oswego, IL and Steve (niece Ross) of Charlotte, NC.
His family and friends will dearly miss him, but know that his journey beyond will be a peaceful one.
Many thanks to the staff at Covenant Hospice for their loving care and kindness, and to the Monk, Nuns and members of the Dieu De Buddhist Temple of Pensacola for their prayers and assistance in Gary's transition to where he wanted to be. May peace be with us all.
Trahan Family Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements
A visitation will be held Friday, December 7, 2012 from 9:00 to 10:00 AM at the funeral home. A memorial service will follow immediately after the visitation. Internment of his ashes to a family plot will be made at a later date in Celina, Ohio.
