AMY (nee Persky), on Sept. 11, 2014. Beloved wife of Michael Newman. Loving mother of Ryan and Hallie Newman. Adored daughter of Jack and Roberta Persky. Loving sister of Randi Persky. Relatives and friends are invited to Funeral Services Sunday, 1 P.M. precisely, GOLDSTEINS' ROSENBERG'S RAPHAEL SACKS SUBURBAN NORTH, 310 Second St. Pike, Southampton. Int. Shalom Memorial Park. Shiva will be observed Sunday at the residence of Mike and Jenny Current; Monday and Tuesday at her late residence. Contribu-tions in her memory may be made to the Francis Scott Key School, 2230 S. 8th Street, Phila. PA 19148.

Dear Jack and Roberta, My mom called me this morning here in California to tell me about the loss of Amy. Sending condolences to you and your entire family. When my dad was alive he spoke of Amy often and was very proud of her accomplishments as a teacher in Philadelphia. Dear Loved Ones,
As one of Amy's supporting teachers, I observed her classroom instruction and sometimes shared her stage for a teaching moment. Although I admired Amy's leadership, professionalism, and ethical values, it was my consistent observation of the loving concern that she generously and genuinely extended to each of her students that endeared her to me on a personal level. Her memory will endure for the rest of my life. God Bless you all.

I know how terrible this is for you as I have also lost a child. I still cry most mornings 7 yrs later so I hope you know your feelings are valid and grieving sucks. I wish you well in your journey and pray for you. My kids remember putting Amy in a shoe box in Atlantic City and there is a picture off it. If we find it I will send it to you. My sympathies and condolences go out to the entire Newman & Key school families. I had the opportunity to work with Amy during the 2011-2012 school year at Key School. She was a beautiful soul inside and out. Her compassion and devotion to the students, and her fellow staff, were a rarity in the SDP. I feel privileged to have worked along side her, and will carry my memories of her kindness and joy with me. When people speak of a teacher, Amy was the model that all teachers should aspire to be. May she rest in peace among the angels.
