I met David when he invited me to join the Eagle Haven Men's Golf Association when I was active duty. He was a source of wisdom for my endless questions of life that come up during every round of golf. He was a brother when I was selected to Chief Petty Officer. He was a mentor when I was voted in as an Officer of the EHMGA where he served as President. He was a friend, that I will miss, everyday I play a round of golf.

Dave was the heart of the Eagle Haven Men's Golf Association. He will be sorely missed around the golf course. I have had the honor of playing golf with him many times and will miss his comradery. He nearly single handedly kept our association together for two decades.

On behalf of the EHMGA I would like to express our most sincere condolences to Mary and Family.

Pop ( Dad) I'm so sorry the world has lost a good man. I remember being in your home so much for over twelve years straight with Steve and the kids. We seen you almost everyday for dinner or in some cases all day with me visiting Meme ( mom).
She and I had our thing, always playing dice or doing crafts. When you came home you would always say alright what's going on in here ) You said that sentence every time I was visiting from my teens and throughout the years I went over to visit you and mema off and on.
I have many memories I won't forget. My heart is heavy with deep pain your gone I'm blessed to have had you as part of my life. I know your always going to be watching over your family as you always have.
Your family and friends will miss you every day. Your life with be celebrated by family and friends talking about their memories they shared with you for a very long time.
You always treated everyone fairly. I will always appreciated you doing the same with me.
My prayers go out to mema ( mom) Pat, Peggy, Mike and Steve.
You all have always been there for pop(dad) just as he was there for all of you. Each one of you have my deepest sympathy losing a wonderful husband, father and friend. Just know he will never be forgotten by so many people. May god bless you all.in your hours of need.

Mr. Schaefer,

You will be missed by many but most importantly your family. While growing up across the street from you, and for my entire life, I've never heard you elevate your voice. I've have never heard one harsh word uttered from your mouth to anyone while always remaining calm dealing with us kids. (We were a mess). With a gentle and kind look in your eyes you'd smile that loving smile and welcome me in that home away from home for me. I'll never forget those dinners of meatloaf, mashed potatoes and corn while fighting for a spot to sit down and eat with your kids, my friends. I love you and eagerly await to be across the street once again seeing you mow the green grass of heaven.
All my love,
Diana

Mema, Pat, Peggy, Mike, & Steve I'm very sorry about your loss. Papa had a heart of gold and was very wise on his words of advise. He will be missed dearly. My thoughts and prayers are with each of you.
