I posted a memorial earlier, but it seems to have disappeared, so I'll try again. We met Bits and Evelyn in 1981 when our daughter married their son, Mark We didn't see each other very often, with us in New Mexico and them in Virginia, but we always enjoyed our visits. Bits told great stories; he was funny and kind and courteous, and almost courtly in manner. He is already missed, but we have wonderful and entertaining memories of him. He was always there for his family--he was known to drive all the way to Arlington to see his son in the hospital, then drive back home the same day. We have all lost a great man and a great friend.

Sorry about 2 entries. I knew Bits for about 38 years, since I started dating his younger son, Mark. He and Evelyn have been great in-laws, giving us a lot of help and support over the years. In fact, six months after his (I think) septuple heart bypass he drove the U-Haul across the country to move us to Albuquerque (then again a year later, when we had to move back). I'll miss him, and Mark will miss him far more. His absence is leaving a hole in our lives.
