Braxton B. Graham
Virginia Beach - Braxton B. Graham, 84, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, April 1, 2018, surrounded by his family. He was from Sanford, NC. He was preceded in death by his mother, Zedar Medlin, his father, Meeker Godfrey, his brothers, Gurney, Robert, Ralph, Lester, David and Calvin Graham.
Braxton proudly served in the United States Air Force. He worked in the construction and steel industry for many years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Norfolk. Braxton's interests included reading his Bible every day, gardening, telling stories of the good old days to his grandchildren, working in his shed and watching his North Carolina Tarheels.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of almost 47 years, Brenda Joan; his sons, Thomas Dodge, Timothy Dodge (Mary Beth), Todd Dodge (Carla), Tony Graham, and Donald Graham; his daughters, Beth Dodge, Amy Graham (fiancé, Brian Mentzer), and Julie Lassiter (Bobby); many grandchildren and great grandchildren; his sister, Kathleen Wall; numerous nieces and nephews; his loyal dog, Peaches, and many other loving family and friends. He treasured his family and was a beloved and devoted husband, father, Pap-pa, and Great Pap-pa.
Visitation is Tuesday, April 10, 2018, from 10 am 12 pm, followed by the service at 12 pm, Woodlawn Funeral Home and interment at Memorial Gardens with military honors, 6329 E. Virginia Blvd., Norfolk, VA. Memorial donations may be made to the Sentara Hospice House www.sentara.com or to the Union Mission Ministries www.unionmissionministries.org.
