Maureen E. Gwathney

Norfolk - Maureen Eunice Gwathney, 80, died on March 15, 2018. She was born October 24, 1937 in Norfolk County, Virginia to the late Armisted Cornelius Gwathney and the late Edna Estelle Gwathney. She was a former member of the New Hope Baptist Church, Chesapeake, VA. After living in New York for over 30 years, she relocated to Virginia for most of her remaining years. She leaves in God's care: a son, Baxter Gwathney; a daughter, Karen Gwathney Hofler (Kenneth); grandson, Kenneth Hofler Jr., granddaughter, Karelle Hofler; sister, Norma Sivells; sister-in-law, Beverly Gwathney; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2018, 12 Noon at Corprew Funeral Home Chapel, 1822 Portsmouth Blvd., Portsmouth, VA 23704.
