Jay was a class act. We saw each other in the gym, worked at the same place for a few years and he was our neighbor. He was a great listener, loved to laugh and regularly went to church with his mom. So sad for his family.

Jay and I met at the gym four years ago . He was my friend / and workout partner . Jay and I was loud in the gym, we would laugh and joke . He was a great listener. He was sweet and positive . I was crushed , sad , still sad and crushed when I heard of his passing. We had plans to workout together, and sadly we never had our chance . This isn't about me. It's about his family . He always talked about his moms cooking. Jay Really loved to eat . He spoke highly of his family . I've been looking at pictures admiring his smile and the joy he showed in the pictures . I'm still in a state of shock . No one is promised tomorrow. I've heard that in the past . But I now see how much truth that holds. I pray for strength for his wife and family . Maybe the lord strength be yours .

Brother Jay, I'm not good at this but here it goes. I appreciate you. I met you at Verizon when I transferred from New York to Norfolk. My first impressions were 1. that dude is built like an action figure 2. that brother is LOUD & 3. jay fields has NOTHING BUT POSITIVE ENERGY! Throughout our years at work, me, you, jeff & john would go to wendies or meet up for lunch somewhere; wherever we would go, you always had to have the healthiest thing on the menu... so boring!!! hahaha... Oh yeah, another thing that I remember is that you would wear the tightest extra medium work shirts; you never got mad when we would joke and have fun with you though... you were so much fun to be around and I'm glad you gave me so many memories to look back and smile at. thank you, my brother, for being there for me, for not feeding into my negative energy & for reenergizing my faith that there are beautiful & selfless people in this world. i love you bro.....

My condolences to the Fields family.I've known Fields for about three years and worked with him for about two years. I will always remember him having a smile on his face, from coming to me in the hallway calling me "S.C chocolate" to stopping me asking "where's my purple lipstick?"; it was never a dull moment. That's one thing I can honestly say in the midst of it all I never seen him upset, he was a pretty laid-back guy, and if he was having a bad day he never let it show. I've enjoyed our time working together but it deeply sadden me that your life was cut short. But I will always cherish our memories and you will be missed. May you have peace and comfort as you move on into the next chapter of your life, know that my very best wishes and thoughts go with you til we meet again.
