I became an employee of the Daily Press after graduation in the fall of 1968, Mr.Raymond Bottom and his family were my benefactors for many years. Although we did not know him as "Uncle" his name was attached to every piece of official employee information we received. The Bottom family were great to work for and I am proud to have been a small part of that organization

RIP Mr Raymond Bottom.

THE AREA HAS LOST A GREAT MAN. I CAME TO BE FAMILIAR WITH HIM IN THE SPRING OF 1983. MY SON DAVID RECIEVED A 4 YEAR SCHOLARSHIP TO HAMPTEN SIDNEY THROUGH MR. BOTTOM. MY SON WAS SO IMPRESSED AFTER MEETING HIM. HE SAID, DAD, HE WAS REALLY INTERESTED IN WHAT I WANTED TO DO WITH MY LIFE.THANKS SO MUCH FOR BEING A PART OF OUR FAMILY.

My heart and prayers go out for the family and many friends of Mr. Bottoms. I had the privilege of getting to know Mr. Bottoms over the years as he flew in and out of our FBO at the airfield. He had such a passion for aviation!
Mr. Bottoms also had a very kind and caring personality. He always took time to say hello and was truly interested to learn more about each individual. It was beautiful to witness him talking with others.
I know he has left a huge imprint on many.
May God grant peace and beautiful memories.
