Robert Clark Atherholt, Jr., 85, died October 15, 2021 with his family by his side. He was born
on November 5th, 1935 in Lynchburg, Virginia born to the late Robert Clark and Louise Atherholt.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Sara; his children, Robert C. Atherholt III and Leslie Fleetwood Atherholt; daughter-in-law, Cindy; grandchildren Benjamin, Carrie, Brooke and Crystal Atherholt; brother and sister in law William Bradshaw and Martha Atherholt; nieces Angie, Martha, Caroline, and his nephew William B. Atherholt Jr.
He graduated from VES and attended W and L University where he belonged to the Phi Kappa Sigma Fraternity. He graduated from Lynchburg College with a BS degree in Business. Bob lived and worked in Lynchburg, Charlottesville, Newport News and Virginia Beach. He was liked for his clever sense of humor and cheerful smile. Bob enjoyed following the stock market; gardening, Wendy's frosty's, and bananas.
The family will receive relatives and friends at home Sunday afternoon October 17th and Monday, October 18 following the service. There will be a Memorial Service at Galilee Episcopal Church on Monday, October 18th, 2021 at One O'clock.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made in his memory to a charity of your choice.

I want you to know how very sorry I am for your loss. Bob was such a fixture around the Northend. He will certainly be missed by many. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

So sorry for your loss. Bobby and I were good friends at Virginia Episcopal School and I visited often in his home in Lynchburg. Many good memories. Wish I could have been with for Bobby´s service. Care giver duties prevented. Best wishes to all your family. Hill Norfleet
