DD,
I was sort of surprised to learn of Bob's passing, so to speak, yesterday and sent you a message conveying my feelings of your loss and my sincere regards for the unique guy that he was.

Typical of my growing inability to do anything right,I previewed the message, found a misspelled word, tried to correct it, and lost the whole message. so here I go again.

In reviewing my thoughts about our time together it came to mind that, in a sense, I am responsible for you two becoming one. If I had not decided to bring Bob from New York to Washington, as my deputy, you would not likely have found each other and blended into the great couple you became. I couldn't have planned to help create such a true condition of real and enduring love.

Like Bob, I too have reached the incredible age of 90. Who would have believed that for either of us. I think back on some amazing memories of things I shared with Bob professionally and socially. Now it is such memories that remain for me and to a greater extent remain to comfort you. My thoughts are with you.

Love,
Bill

DD, we are so sad to hear of Snuff's passing. Although our Ophelia days together were years ago, we still remember the great times we shared as friends. We can't recall those days with you and Snuff without remembering your dear Big Dog. Gosh, Snuff loved that dog so much. Remember when Big Dog would bark at the splashing and laughing of our grandchildren as he ran around the pool? He so wanted to join them at play. May the many happy memories you lovingly shared with your forever love Snuff always bring you comfort and a smile to your face.

Heaven just got one incredible Bass player for their band. Snuff was a bolt of lightning and energy, unlike anyone I ever met. His heart and soul were so kind and I adored the way he told stories/jokes, his eyes would light up and he had that grin that screamed happiness. His love story with DD (not Dee Dee as he often pointed out) is inspirational and one we all hope for in our own lives. David and I are so blessed to call Snuff our friend and he will be very much missed.
