Terry L. Comstock
Norfolk - Terry Leon Comstock, wonderful husband, loving father, entrepreneur, and friend to many, passed peacefully into eternal life with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on December 26, 2017, with his loving family by his side. Terry fought cancer valiantly for nine months prior to being called home.
Born on September 22, 1949 in Berwick, Pennsylvania, Terry was one of four children born to William Miles Comstock, Jr. and Lillie Pearl Comstock (neè Dempsey). Terry grew up in Norfolk and attended Lake Taylor High School. He served honorably in the United States Army as an aircraft firefighter during the Vietnam War era. Following his service, he held a variety of construction jobs with increasing responsibility until founding his own utility contracting company, TMC Repairs, Inc. in 1992, which he operated until his death. Terry was an avid outdoorsman, and enjoyed hunting and fishing trips throughout the United States and Canada. He was also very active in the churches he attended: Colonial Heights Church of Christ, where he served as both deacon and elder for a number of years, and Avalon Church of Christ, where he generously provided time and resources to the Lord's work there. He was a friend to everyone he met and provided a godly example for many to follow.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Miles Comstock, Jr. his mother, Lillie Pearl Comstock, and his sister, Margaret Lucas. He is survived by his brother, Johnny Miles Comstock; his sister, Judy Wright; his wife of 48 years, Cheryl Blake Comstock; son, Terry Matthew Comstock; two nephews and three nieces.
A celebration of life will be held at Avalon Church of Christ, 844 Woodstock Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23464, on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at 12pm. The family requests that donations to Avalon be made in lieu of flowers.

My fondest memories of CHCC involve Terry and Cheryl! They both were wonderfully amazing godly individuals! The Comstocks were a very special couple and Cheryl couldn't get enough of holding her babies. My deepest sympathies and prayers go out to their family! I know they are truly angels in heaven now as they definitely were here on earth!!
