How can I describe what a lifetime of knowing David Shrum means to me; the first time at age 13. Progress Plunge...a splash. Coppertone Sun Tan Lotion...First Love. We went our separate ways, but always remained connected...usually with my calling him on August 18 to wish him Happy Birthday. The last conversation several months ago was political, of course. He was living in Colorado Springs, annoyed with me that I had not stopped to see him on my way to Arizona. A lesson...a life lesson he taught me. Reach out now if you have a friend. Never give up an opportunity to see them, hug them.

Vaya Con Dios my David. I will see you on the other side.

Dave was a great guy. He remodeled my kitchen in the 80s. Always kind and fun to be around. My heart hurts for the Shrum family. He will truly be missed.

I used to work with Dave back in the late 1970s, surveying pipeline in the Four Corners area. We worked for Fred Reed. Those were some good days. I'll miss you Dave, you brought a lot of laughs into my life then.
