Thomas Earl Maulding
PEORIA - Tom Maulding, 77, of Peoria passed away on Thursday, May 6, 2021.
Born on August 31, 1943, in Springfield to Earl and Mildred (Everhart) Maulding, he married Carol Johnson on November 26, 1966, in Springfield. She survives. Also surviving are his children, Joanna (Nick) Zvirbulis and Jeffrey Maulding; grandchildren, Madeline and Henry; and sister, Beverly (David) Berry.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
In his youth, Tom was very active in the Boy Scouts. He attended two National Jamborees, a Scout Ranch and was on his way to becoming an Eagle Scout. Tom attended the University of Illinois and Bradley University, where he studied Electrical Engineering. At Bradley, he was a member of Alpha Phi Omega fraternity.
He was employed by IDOT for over four decades, where he was a Claims Manager and Traffic Signal Technician. He was a devoted member of First Baptist Church of Peoria, where he served on the Board of Trustees, the Diaconate and was custodian of the church's carillon for many years. Tom was a dedicated Cardinals baseball fan and University of Illinois basketball fan, enjoyed Jazz music and was an avid photographer. He enjoyed electronics and was a member of the RCMA and CARMA radio clubs. He was an avid traveler and enjoyed many road trips throughout the Continental United States.
Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, May 11, 2021, at 6 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Peoria, with the Rev. Dr. Rob Collins officiating. Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Peoria.
Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

He was my cousin. I loved him dearly. Smart, funny, caring , kind are just a few ways to describe him. He will be missed. He is now at peace and in a better place.
