Person, Georgia Bell Washington Was born August 25, 1930 in Midway, Alabama to Maggie Bell Parker (deceased) and Roscoe Washington, Sr. (deceased). She was the oldest of nine siblings and four stepsiblings. She accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Midway, AL. She continued her belief in Christ at Zion Baptist Church in East Chicago, IN and later joined Bethlehem A.M.E. Zion Church in Gary, IN. Georgia Bell Washington married Alexander Person, Sr. (deceased) in 1949. From this union they shared five children, Alexander (Tommie) Person, Jr. of Colorado Springs, CO, Walter L. (Barbara) Person, Sr. of Edison, NJ, Charles Person of Gary, IN, Dorothy Jean Person Harrison (deceased), Sidney Renee Person of Upper Marlboro, MD and beloved Sandra (Robert) Ferguson of Merrillville, IN. Georgia Bell Person leaves behind her four children and surviving siblings: two brothers, James (Evelyn) Parker of Detroit, MI and Darnell Parker of Midway Alabama; two sisters, Thelma Ivery of Detroit, MI and Mattie Irving of Montgomery, AL; eleven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews; one aunt; other relatives and friends. Visitation Saturday, October 18, 2014 from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. with funeral services immediately following at 11:00 a.m. All services at the Bethlehem AME Zion Church, 560 W. 19th Ave. Interment Oak Hill Cemetery.
