Mary M (Lacey) Borges passed away Thursday, June 29, 2017. Born and raised in Gary, Indiana, Mary attended Pulaski and Froebel Schools. She was a member of Jesus Saves MB Church. Preceded in death by husband, Roberto Borges; father Lorenzo Hardin; mother Emma Gibson; stepfather Alfonzo Davis, Sr; brothers John Wesley Hardin and Alfonzo Davis Jr; sister Eula Phillips; son Lorenzo Lacey, and her grandparents. She leaves to cherish her memory; sons, Provine (Colette) Lacey III and Marcus (Nagina) Lacey; daughter, Joy Lacey; brother Jerome (Jacqueline) Hardin; 20 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, 8 great-great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation Saturday July 8, 2017 from 9-11:00a.m. with funeral service to follow at 11:00a.m. all services at Jesus Saves MB Church, 464 Roosevelt Street. Interment Fern Oaks Cemetery.

I remember watching my Auntie Mary putting on her makeup. I was 8 years old standing behind her following her every move. I was so intrigued with how beautiful she would make her face. I wanted to be just like her. I watched how she took care of her Grandchildren. She was as awesome Woman.

To Provine and Collette sorry to hear of the passing of your beloved Mother. May you find comfort in knowing others share in your grief. Remember the love you shared with your mother to bring comfort to you and family. A Mothers love is forever. We will be praying foryou in the days ahead.
