My condolences to the family and friends of Mr. Willie T Bond.
In the early 80's I was transferred from the South Annealing to the North Annealing at U.S. Steel. It was then that I first met Willie T. He was operating the North Mill Diesel Locomotive which moved cars of coils from the North to the South Mills.
Willie T was always upbeat in performing his job. He had that smile, that sense of humor and the confidence at being good at whatever he did. He was just a good man to work with and to have known.
I was called back to the South and lost touch with many of the employees working in the North Annealing but as you can see Willie T stood out with his demeanor and easy going nature which prompted me to sit here writing this testimony to his memory.
R.I.P. Mr. Willie T Bond Sr.
