Donna Mae Uitenbroek

Darboy - Donna M. Uitenbroek, age 81, peacefully passed into the Lord's arms, as her family surrounded her. She died on Palm Sunday, March 28, 2021, after a long struggle with dementia at St. Paul Home, Kaukauna. Donna was born on January 1, 1940, to the late Norbert and Ceceilia (Verhagen) Meulemans, Wrightstown. She married Paul Uitenbroek on June 11, 1959 and enjoyed 57 years of marriage. Together they raised five children in the family Homestead in Darboy.

Donna grew up in Wrightstown and graduated from St. Joe's Academy, Green Bay in 1958. She worked at Appleton Papers until her children were born. Donna belonged to Holy Angels Parish Christian Mothers and volunteered for many various school and parish activities, the latest being the Scrip Program. She was also the bookkeeper for Paul Uitenbroek Plastering, and was Paul's right hand. Donna took an active role as the main leader of Darboy Ever-Alert West 4-H Club. Her involvement in 4-H touched many children throughout the community. Donna loved to cook and bake! As an avid recipe collector, Donna would frequently make new dishes for her family. Sunday after Mass her family loved to gather for her infamous Sunday brunches, with homemade bread. Christmas candy making, monster cookies and strudel were traditions. Her passion and joy was her family, and she greatly enjoyed those weekly gatherings with all 12 grandkids and 6 great-grandkids, with 7th on the way. She was an avid reader/collector of information to share with all. Other interests included: genealogy, traveling, sewing, square dancing, gardening, cribbage/cards, family camping, photography, accordion and piano playing. She had a giving, graceful heart of gold and left a beautiful legacy and example to live by. Her warm, welcoming personality and beautiful smile will be cherished forever.

Donna is survived by her loving family: daughter, Jean (Erik) Barnes and their children, Nickolas (Amanda) Barnes and their daughter Olivia, and Chelsey (fiance, Jonathon Hare) Barnes; daughter, Sue (Pete) Scherer and their children, Melissa (Brandon) Wurzer their daughter Nola, and baby boy due 7/2021, Travis (Danna) Scherer; son, Tony (Diane) and their children, Trevor, Hannah and Philip Uitenbroek; daughter, Julie (Ken) Bastian, and their children, Kayla (Pearce) Goodwin and their children, Carson and Conner, Alex (Belle) Bastian and their children, Taki and Mele, and Amy (Nino) Rebholz; and daughter, Bonnie (Tom) Ermers and her children, Jenny and Lee Buelow; and Tom's children, Stephanie (Jason) Garland, Brandon Ermers and Angela (Ryan) Anderson; siblings: Vern (Monica) Meulemans, Ken (Lynn) Meulemans, Dianne (Jerome) Schreiber, Joyce (Glenn) Hansen, Dennis (Chris) Meulemans and Jeff (Carol) Meulemans; in-laws: Irene, Ruth, Lynn and Joe Uitenbroek; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

I remember Donna's beautiful smile that shined God's love, acceptance, and warmth! Her love shined through all she did, to all whom she would encountered and especially with her lovely family!

I have good memories when our two families would get together for visits. Loved the camaraderie and debates.

One memory I have is the large snowman they always put up in the front yard. It had to be 10 feet tall.

Donna and Paul will be missed

Our daughter worked in Club Gabe and took care of Donna on a snowy winter day and. they were the only 2 there. They enjoyed each other's company so much that our daughter shared this with us. Donna warmed our hearts. Take care. Our sincere sympathy to Donna's family and those who knew her. Kristy's mom and dad
