Francis M. Thome
New Holstein - Francis M. Thome, 92, of New Holstein, passed away Monday, April 5, 2021 at Willow Park Place. He was born September 11, 1928, in Mt. Calvary, to the late Felix and Isabelle (Dietzen) Thome. He attended Marytown Grade School. Francis proudly served his country in the United States Army in Korea from 1955 until 1958. On August 9, 1958 he was united in marriage to Julia "Judy" Heuring in Kimberly. She preceded him in death on August 17, 2012.
Francis farmed with his father, Felix and independently, from 1958 until 1992. In retirement, Francis and Judy moved to New Holstein and spent their winters in Florida. He was an active member of St. Ann Catholic Parish. He was instrumental in establishing the Adoration Chapel in Chilton and remained active with the group for over 20 years. He enjoyed golfing, gardening and time spent with the Nightcrawlers Card Club.
Survivors include his children; Daniel (Sue) Thome and their children Brian & Michael Thome; Steven (Tracy) Thome; Lois Thome (John) Paluzzi and their children Nicholas & Isabella Paluzzi; Gerald Thome and Fiance Julianne Jones and their children Matthew & Elizabeth Thome, Alex Morgan; Sarah (Jesse) Heinen. Francis is also survived by a brother-in-law; Ken (Joanne) Heuring, sister-in-law; Mary Kunstman. Many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
In addition to his wife, Judy, he was preceded in death by two children; Paul and Mary Alice Thome; his brothers; Robert and Michael Thome; his sister-in-law, Alice Thome; his sisters-in-law; Margaret Heuring, Patricia (John) Pelszynski and Audrey Heuring, his brothers-in-law; Joe (Joann) Heuring, Ed (Mary Jane) (Darlene) Heuring, Ron Kunstman.
Funeral Mass for Francis will be celebrated at 11:00am on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at St. Ann Catholic Church, St. Anna (N188 School St. New Holstein) with Rev. Carl Diederichs officiating. Burial in the Parish cemetery. Family and friends may call at the Church on Saturday from 9:00am until the time of the Mass. The Mass will be livestreamed on www.meiselwitzfh.com

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in his name for St. Ann Catholic Church.
