Howard was a wonderful person. He will be missed. He had a heart of gold. I loved his stories he had to tell when he came to my work. He would sit and talk to me for at least half an hour. God rest your soul. Rest in peace

Howard became a good friend as a fellow shop owner on West Liberty Avenue. I always looked forward to his almost daily visits! He was a great listener and problem solver for others but he also shared with me some fabulous stories of past days. He was strong willed and thriving doing business daily WELL beyond retirement age with so many different people. You could count on him to advise you as to what your safe and security needs were, with out worrying that he would try and gauge you! He was honest in all respects and a very, very caring man behind that stoic exterior. He was with me through many and I do mean many trials in my life and when I became distraught he showed me the right way to handle things by bringing me back down to earth and seeing it in the proper perspective. We shared meals together at the shop and he would take the occasional "cat nap" there as well...we felt right at home with him there and I think he felt the same way too! :) My son Brady became very fond of Howard as well and he honored his opinion about any subject that was on his mind.
Howard was among the last generation of the truly hardworking, very proud and polished gentleman. He will surely be missed by the Pitcher family!
With deep respect Howard, May you rest in Peace with my Angels in Heaven! Tell them I sent you to check on them! :)
My love to the family......
