Olson, Albert "Al" L. Albert Leo Olson, 90, of Wyoming, MI passed away into the arms of his Lord and Savior on Sunday, December 1, 2019 surrounded by his loving wife of 44 years, June, and a family that adored him. Born February 9, 1929, Al was the son of Roy and Edith Olson. His mother shared his birthday. He was the 8th of 11 children who cherished their Manton and Lake City homes, and is survived by his siblings Bill Olson, Lila Kornoely and Lily Durgan. Al exaggerated his age to join the war effort, and proudly served his country in the Army during the last days of WWII. He returned home and married Alice Kornoely of Falmouth, MI. Al and Alice raised four children together; Rick (Marian) Olson, Roger (Marcia) Olson, Carol (The Rev. Bob) DeWitt, and Rocky (Kate) Olson in their Wyoming home. After the family lost Alice to complications from cancer, Al married June Linemeyer Marshall and welcomed step-children Tammy (Scott) Bravata and Richard (Holly) Marshall to the family. Al spent his entire career as a mechanic at Grand Rapids Auto Parts. Those strong but gentle hands were held by his six children and 64 devoted grandchildren over the course of his brief illness. Another great-grandchild and his first great-great-grandchild are expected in the new year. The extended Olson family, too numerous to list, is made up of in-laws, cousins, nieces, and nephews who gather early in August each year for a family reunion and potluck, hoping to get a hug from Uncle Al and a spoonful of Grandma Olson's famous Spanish rice. Al loved the Detroit Tigers, Westerns, chocolate, and every dog he ever met. Each time he heard "I love you" from family, he faithfully responded "love you more." Now, at last, his family gets the last word. We loved you more, Albert Olson. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Saturday, December 7, 2019 at the Cook Memorial Chapel (East building), 4235 Prairie SW, Grandville. Relatives and friends may meet his family Friday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Cook Funeral Home (West building). Contributions in memory of Al may be made to Hospice of Holland. His family welcomes memories and messages in their guest book online at www.cookcares.com.

We are saddened by the passing of our friend, Albert. Al was part of our Grand Rapids Auto Parts family for 30 years. He was more than an employee. Al was a friend and did whatever he could to help our father make our business a success. Many times we would refer to him as Uncle Al. He took pride in doing his job the best he knew how and to always be honest with our customers. I think Al looked at my brother Favid and myself as is we were his kids. He loved when I would help him in the garage and was always ready to bail me out of trouble. We will miss Al. He was good man and a great friend.

I worked with Albert for many years, and always enjoyed when he would stop in to the shop after he retired and would bring his puppy with him to say hi to me. He will be missed.
