Beverly Miller Obituary

Miller
BEVERLY J. MILLER
November 1, 1934 December 30, 2020
Beverly J. Miller, 86, passed away on December 30, 2020. She was born November 1, 1934 in Waupaca, Wisconsin to Elmer and Lucy Manney. She was a small, strong woman that will be missed greatly.
On March 25, 1955 she married the love of her life, Maynard C. "Lefty" Miller. Together they had four daughters and shared 65 years of happiness together.
Her marriage to Maynard made her a proud Army wife. After several stateside assignments, including Ft. Carson, they decided to set up "Fort Miller" in Colorado Springs in the late sixties.
Beverly was the CO of this Fort during the many times Maynard was deployed overseas. Her M.O. was always wife and mother. She later added to this with her employment at Current, Inc., where she loved the work and social interactions.
After she and Maynard both retired, they shared many activities together. Baking and giving away banana nut bread and her famous hand-decorated sugar cookies and frequent trips to Cripple Creek became a "hobby" later in life. But being grandparents was their favorite!
A wonderful "little mama", terrific grandma and faithful wife; she also became Maynard's caregiver and fulfilled his wish of passing at home in February 2019.
Forever a feisty woman, she continued to live on her own holding down the Fort. With her passing Beverly unites again with Maynard and joins two of their daughters; Brenda and Mary.
She is survived by daughters; Linda (Steve) Dearth and Toni (Brent) Cox; son-in-law, Stan Heaverlo; grandchildren; Rhett (Neici), Karen (JR), Greg, Frank, Jessica (Steve) and Danica (Athan); along with several great-grandchildren, extended family, friends and neighbors.
A special thank you to Ann, Leon and Kevin for helping whenever needed and keeping a distant eye on this independent woman.
In lieu of flowers please share some quality time with a loved one by calling or safely visiting.
