Charles Hesse Obituary

Charles Lee Hesse
Charles Lee Hesse, fondly known by friends and family as Chuck, died on February 18, 2021 as a result of illness. Chuck was born on November 12, 1958 to Beulah "Billie" and Ralph Hesse in Corpus Christi, Texas where he grew up. Chuck's parents preceded him in death. He is survived by a cousin, Pamela Gander of Arkansas. Chuck graduated from Baylor University in 1981 with a BBA in Accounting. After college he relocated to Austin, Texas where he lived the remainder of his life. Chuck loved his life in Austin. In addition to his regular job, he worked as an usher, then house manager at Bass Concert Hall at the University of Texas Performing Arts Center and The Long Center for Performing Arts. He continued his love of handbells performing with The Austin Handbell Ensemble for 25 years. Chuck supported the Safe Haven Animal Rescue and Austin Food Bank. Chuck enjoyed the many cultural venues in Austin. Chuck's furbabies will be relocated with a longtime friend. Chuck leaves behind many friends who loved him dearly. Chuck will be warmly remembered for his mischievous nature, dedication to friends and love of fun. He will be sorely missed. A celebration of his life will be scheduled at a later date to ensure the safety of participants. Chuck was a very dear person, very caring and considerate. He brought a smile to all who had the fortune of working with him. Knowing I will not ever see him again breaks my heart. Rest in peace Chuck, you were much loved.

This makes me so sad. I played handbells with Chuck for many years. He had a great wit and was a joy to be around. He will be missed.
