DENNIS FILLINGER

HARTS, W.Va. — Dennis James 'Dink' Fillinger 62 of Harts, W.Va., was born Oct. 21, 1954 at Logan, W.Va. a son of the late Blaine and Ella Spry Fillinger. He departed this life on Thursday, April 6, 2017 at Pikeville Medical Center in Pikeville, Ky.

Dennis was a coal miner, Air Force Veteran, and minister. He was a member of the Guyan Freewill Baptist Church. He loved serving the Lord and spreading the Gospel. He enjoyed singing with several gospel groups throughout his life. Dennis loved his family more than anything and loved spending time with his wife at their home in Tennessee.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother Ronnie Fillinger.

Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Judy Barker Fillinger, children; James Michael (Karie) Fillinger of Harts, Greg (Lou Anna) Fillinger of Pecks Mill, and Kelli (Davey) Gibson of Lake, W.Va., six grandsons; Zachary Austin Hensley, Dustin Fillinger, Tyler and Bailey Bowen, and Jaxson and Jase Fillinger, siblings; Dottie Colston, Raymond (Patti) Fillinger, David (Lynn) Fillinger, Donald (Anita) Fillinger, Sue (Marion) Morris, and Debbie (Ralph) Barker, brothers-in-laws; Jackie (Carolyn), Con (Alice), Kenny (Pam), and Billy (Debbie) Barker, sister-in-law Linda Lairson, and he also has a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, along with special friends left to cherish his memory.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff of the surgical ICU at Pikeville Medical Center as well as the doctors and surgeons that took such great care of him. They would also like to thank the multitude of people that has sent messages, called, prayed, and visited with Dennis and family during this difficult time.

Service will be 2p.m. Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at the Evans Funeral Home and Cremation Services at Chapmanville, W.Va. with Rev. Johnny Workman and Rev. Roscoe Chafin, officiating. Burial will follow in the Highland Memory Gardens at Godby, W.Va.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

Friends may call from 6p.m. till 9p.m. Monday at the Evans Funeral Home and Cremation Services at Chapmanville.
