Frank Moll Obituary

Frank Moll

Frank Moll was born November 11, 1934, the youngest of 3 sons born to Cy and Blanche Moll of Arlington, WA. He graduated from Arlington HS, then attended the Univ of Wash graduating with a BA degree in finance and business. During his soph year he met his wife Phyllis and they were married a week after their graduation.

Shortly after graduation he joined the Navy. He was commissioned an Ensign and assigned to the Pentagon as an intelligence officer. Then he was sent to the NSA at Ft Mead, MD. After 3 years he retired from active duty, but served 23 years in the active reserve at Sand Point, retiring as a Captain. In the Reserve he served for a time as his unit's commanding officer, earning many accolades for his group.

His business career was spent mostly with the Bon Marche, where he started as Collection Manager and retired as a VP and regional credit manager over a 5 state region. He also helped start the WA Retail Assoc. and served a term as president.

Frank's family was his true love. If his children were involved so was he; be it scouting, school sports, little league, PTA, or band concerts. He enjoyed teaching them how to fish, hunt, and enjoy nature. Many a story was told around the campfire. A true Navy man he also enjoyed the water. He and Phyllis spent many years cruising on Puget Sound and up into the Canadian waters aboard their boat the Free Spirit. They were members of Dagmar's Yacht Club and he held several offices including commodore. He and Phyllis also traveled in their RV up and down the west coast and Canada, besides trips to Mexico and Hawaii. Hunting trips to eastern WA were his favorite, and the whole family participated, as well as friends and neighbors.

Frank is survived by Phyllis his wife of 59 years, and his children Kelly, Gordon (Melissa), Kathy, Douglas (Annie), and Daniel. His grandchildren James, Travis, and Ashley and great grandchildren Zane, Jaydon, and Kallie Marie also survive him.

Frank died peacefully on May 5th surrounded by his loving family. A celebration of life service will be held Saturday May 30 at 2pm at Bethel Lutheran Church, 17418 8th Ave NE in Shoreline. Memorials may be made to Bethel Lutheran.
