Gale Marie (Dear) Soles, a lifelong resident of Hale, passed away Saturday, May 8, 2021 at the Mid Michigan Medical Center in West Branch, age 60.
Gale was born on Nov. 14, 1960 in West Branch to Joseph and Doris (Eno) Dear. She graduated with the class of 1978 from Hale High School and furthered her education at Michigan State University, graduating with a Bachelor's of Science degree majoring in business marketing and minoring in biology and chemistry.
Gale was an energetic and spontaneous woman who had a huge heart and simply enjoyed life! Gale was by all measures a true Michigander! She loved everything about the water; swimming, boating, going to the beach, and taking in the sun! Gale enjoyed spending time gardening and just being outside with nature. Morel mushroom hunting, walking through the woods, water and winter skiing were amongst her favorite hobbies.
She had a deep and rich Christian faith, often finding peace and comfort while reading her Bible. Gale also enjoyed cooking and shopping. She was athletically gifted and played a variety of sports growing up. Even in her adult years, Gale would use her athletic talent to maintain her busy and fun lifestyle. Above all else, Gale absolutely adored and cherished her children and grandson; spending time together was her favorite!! Gale will truly be missed and cherished by all who knew and loved her.
Gale is survived by her four beloved children, Erika Fox of Indianapolis, Ind., Jessica Fox of Hale, Sarah Brooks of Tawas and John Fox of Orlando, Fla.; one grandson, Barrett Brooks of Tawas; her loving mother, Doris Dear of Hale; three brothers, David (Sharron) Dear of Versailles, Mo., Daniel (Lori) Dear of Chesterfield and Joseph (Donna) Dear of Norton Shores; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends. Gale was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Richard Dear; grandmother, Evelyn Eno; and her grandfather, George Eno.
A funeral mass is scheduled for Thursday, May 13, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Hale with Father Tony Cureton officiating. Her family will welcome friends for a time of visitation at the church on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of mass. Gale will be laid to rest in the Esmond Evergreen Cemetery in Hale following her funeral mass.
