Cookson, Kristin Mary 8/2/1943 - 2/13/2017 Kalamazoo, MI Kristin Mary Cookson, DVM (Veterinary Toxicologist), born August 2, 1943, in Port Huron, Michigan, died in her own bed at home in Kalamazoo, on Monday, February 13, 2017, after a long battle with cancer. She is survived by her wife of 49 years, Suzanne Marie Lohrberg; her sister, Maryann Saint; and her many nieces and nephews. Her burial liturgy will be held at St. Martin of Tours Episcopal Church, 2010 Nichols Rd, Kalamazoo, on Friday, March 3, 2017, at 11:00am, with a reception following. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Open Doors (1141 S Rose St #3, Kalamazoo, MI 49001), or to the Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo (1204 Gulf Shores Parkway, Gulf Shores, AL 36542).

Suzanne - I'm so very sorry to hear about Kris. We were long time friends from Jr. High through JHS. I had a nice talk with her in Dec. and she seemed happy and upbeat about her health. We're in Florida so won't be able to attend the funeral, but please know you are in my thoughts and prayers. Marsha Haehnle
