LAMEIRAS, Linda (Mandel) Age 81, passed away peacefully surrounded by family in Somerville, MA on March 27, 2021 after a 3 year struggle with ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis – an incurable progressive neurodegenerative disease). Beloved wife of 40 years to the late Mariano "Mario" Lameiras (owner of the former Cedar Pharmacy in Somerville, MA) who passed in 2007. Loving and devoted mother of Michele (Lameiras) and her husband Jason Bemiller of Derry, NH, Denise (Lameiras) and her husband Brian O'Donovan of Somerville, MA. Stepmother of the late Gary Lameiras and his wife Teresinha (Mandel) of Pelham, NH. Sister to 3 brothers and 8 sisters in Brazil, Sister in-law to the late Teofilo "Phil" Lameiras and his recently departed wife Anna (Barbosa) of Burlington, MA and GA, the late Alice (Lameiras) and her husband Delmar Modesto of Burlington, MA. Grandmother to Nina Lameiras, Andrew & Trevor Lameiras, Seamus, Devin, Aidan and Addison O'Donovan , Matthew, Amanda and Nicholas Bemiller. Linda also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews in both the US and Brazil. Visitation will be held at St Clement Church, 71 Warner St., Medford, MA from 12 – 2pm with a short Mass immediately following at 2pm. Relatives and friends invited. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to www.CCALS.org (Compassionate Care ALS) in the name of Linda Lameiras as they are an extraordinary group who have guided our family throughout her illness.

I am so sorry to learn of Linda’s death. I worked her at the Argenzio School @ Lincoln Park for many years. We were both teachers helpers. I often sent cards and tried to phone Linda but to no avail. I did not know that she was so ill. May God rest her soul...she was a beautiful person and I am sorry that I was not aware of her illness.
