AMYOTTE, CSJ, Sister Margaret (Sister M. Aloysius) The Congregation of the Sisters of St. Joseph in Canada, announces the death of our dear Sister Margaret Amyotte at Mount St. Joseph, Peterborough, on August 29, 2019. Sr. Margaret was born in Cobalt, Ontario in 1929. Sr. Margaret is predeceased by her parents, the late Bridget (Leach) and John B. Amyotte as well as her brothers Edward, James, Joseph, Bernard and John and her sisters Mary Lynch and Teresa McKeiver. She is lovingly remembered by the members of her religious community, the Sisters of St. Joseph in Canada. Margaret Claire entered the Sisters of St. Joseph of Peterborough in 1948. Sister Margaret's ministry in religious life touched many people and places. Her influence was in Cobourg, Lindsay, Peterborough, Almonte, Ottawa, Parry Sound, Regina and Estevan, Saskatchewan, and Wainwright, Alberta. She was a woman of many talents as she had experiences in office work, child care, teaching, nursing and night supervisor, housekeeping and food services, Director of Volunteers, recreational therapy, and discharge planning. She spent several years in ministry to young women and babies at Martha House in Regina and to retired clergy, and senior men and women. She is remembered for her kindness and compassion to people, especially to the sick, and to the people in her care. Visitation will be at Mount St. Joseph, 1555 Monaghan Road, on Wednesday, September 4th from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, September 5th at 10:30 a.m. at Mount St. Joseph Chapel. This will be followed by interment at Highland Park Cemetery, Peterborough. Online condolences can be made at www.comstockkaye.com
